The Uncus

One-of-a-kind handcrafted wood sculpture featuring beautiful high-alpine driftwood, sustainably sourced from the Colorado rockies. Uncus is Latin for "hook" or "curved talon," a nod to the way weathered mountain timber bends and hooks upward in response to harsh winds and light. I handcrafted this from a hollowed segment of aged wood with incredible high-contrast grain that spirals up to an organic curve at its peak. What makes this piece special is the soft, warm LED light that radiates from within its hollowed core, casting an inviting glow through the open fissure and lighting up the deep caramel tones inside. Anchored on a sleek matte-black pedestal, it balances functional lighting with dramatic sculptural form—perfect for a console table, bedside display, or an executive desk.
