Andrew is an organic abstract sculptor who transforms reclaimed wood and driftwood into sophisticated focal points for contemporary interiors.
His work explores the silent dialogue between the raw power of nature and the refined geometry of modern design, based on the philosophy that every weathered root holds a hidden architecture.
STATEMENT
My work is rooted in the belief that nature is the ultimate designer. Every weathered root and branch holds a hidden architecture, sculpted by decades of wind, water, and time. I view these elements not as blank canvases, but as raw masterpieces telling profound stories of resilience.
My practice explores the silent dialogue between the untamed power of the natural world and the refined geometry of modern design. This process is one of profound collaboration rather than control. In the studio, my intent bends to the influence of the wood; I follow its natural grain and honor the patterns forged by its history.
By integrating materials like glass, resin, and gemstones with architectural precision, I seek to amplify the tension between ancient, tactile textures and sleek, contemporary finishes. Ultimately, these sculptures are fragments of the wild, translated for the human space—an eternal second life for forms that would otherwise silently return to the earth.
BIO
Andrew is a sculptor based in Tucson, Arizona, who transforms reclaimed wood and driftwood into one-of-a-kind contemporary pieces. A graduate of the Art Institute of Philadelphia, Andrew spent two decades as a digital design director before transitioning his focus from screen-based media to tactile, physical objects. Today, he applies his professional background in digital composition and spatial design to raw, naturally formed materials.
Andrew physically sources his materials by jeeping through remote landscapes, splitting his time between the deserts of Arizona and the backcountry of Colorado. After recovering weathered wood, he hand-refines each piece in his workshop. His structural process involves integrating architectural materials such as glass, resin, and gemstones directly into the natural grain of the wood, resulting in highly polished, non-repeatable works.
When he is not in his workshop or off-roading to scout new materials, Andrew is at home in Tucson with his wife and their two cats.

01 / ON A MISSION
The journey begins where the pavement ends; my wife and I scout remote areas for weathered, organic treasures. It's always a surprise to find these raw, earth-covered forms; a study in natural form and texture.
02 / Make it Amazing
The wood is carefully cleaned and shaped by hand as the architecture beings to take shape. Finishing materials like turquoise, gold leaf, epoxy and oil sealers are used to accent the pieces final form locking in the character of the piece.
03 / Make it enduring
The final sculpture: a fragment of the wild, elevated into a functional/aesthetic work of art interior spaces.
