The Torris

One-of-a-kind handcrafted wood sculpture featuring beautiful high-alpine driftwood, sustainably sourced from the Colorado rockies. Torris gets its name from the Latin word for "torch" or "firebrand." I wanted this piece to capture the fiery movement and elemental energy frozen within the sweeping curves of ancient timber. Handcrafted from a deeply textured segment of weathered wood, it ascends in dramatic, flame-like crests. I added vibrant rivers of crushed turquoise through its natural crevices, creating a striking contrast where cool mineral stone meets warm, blazing amber wood grain. Resting securely atop a heavy, bronze-toned block pedestal, it balances dynamic vertical motion with grounded architectural weight.
