The Serpens

One-of-a-kind handcrafted wood sculpture featuring beautiful Arizona desert driftwood, sustainably sourced from the Sonoran desert. Serpens gets its name from the Latin word for "serpent" or "winding snake." It’s a kinetic piece that tells the story of fluid motion, honoring ancient desert roots that wind through arid soil looking for water. I handcrafted this from rich Arizona mesquite root, following its sweeping, organic curves as they coil upward. I inlaid vibrant crushed turquoise along both sides to create a continuous, river-like stream. I mounted it on a rotating display base so you can interact with it 360 degrees and see new contours from every angle. It's a mesmerizing, interactive piece of desert elegance.
