The Sabulum

One-of-a-kind handcrafted wood sculpture featuring beautiful high-alpine driftwood, sustainably sourced from the Colorado rockies. Sabulum gets its name from the Latin word for "coarse sand or gravel." It's a nod to the high-alpine earth and harsh winds that sculpted this timber over decades. I crafted this bowl from high-elevation Rocky Mountain driftwood, letting the swirling grain and rich, warm tones speak for themselves. The wood naturally formed this organic hollow, which makes a perfect cradle for a candle. When lit, the soft glow really highlights the deep textures of the interior. It’s a grounded, tactile piece that brings a bit of authentic mountain warmth to a dining table, mantel, or entry console.
