The Hamo

One-of-a-kind handcrafted wood sculpture featuring beautiful high-alpine driftwood, sustainably sourced from the Colorado rockies. Hamo means "hooked" in Latin, which perfectly describes how this alpine timber survived by gripping the cliff faces against howling winds. I crafted this piece from high-elevation Rocky Mountain wood that naturally features these dramatic, sweeping curves and gnarled textures. What really caught my eye were the fiery orange and black striations, shaped by centuries of intense sun and altitude. Its hooked form creates a dynamic arc that feels full of movement and tension. It’s a striking, high-contrast piece that brings untamed high-country history right to an executive desk or entry console.
