SCULPTURE
The Foramina

One-of-a-kind handcrafted wood sculpture featuring beautiful high-alpine driftwood, sustainably sourced from the Colorado rockies. Foramina gets its name from the Latin word for "openings" or "passages," and it's really all about negative space. I found this piece of authentic Rocky Mountain driftwood at about 9,000 feet near a remote hot spring in Colorado. It tells a great story of how geothermal waters and alpine winds can pierce living timber over decades, slowly transforming solid wood into a framework of light and air. I kept its sleek, fluid form intact to celebrate those naturally sculpted voids. To make the pale, mineral-swept textures really stand out, I mounted it on a minimalist ebonized base. It’s a serene, highly sculptural piece that brings a quiet, high-altitude energy to a contemporary room.
