One-of-a-kind handcrafted wood sculpture featuring beautiful high-alpine driftwood, sustainably sourced from the Colorado rockies. Contorquere gets its name from the Latin word for "to twist" or "entwine." To me, it perfectly captures how relentless high-country winds can shape a piece of timber into a single, sweeping ribbon of wood. I found this high-elevation Rocky Mountain driftwood and really wanted to highlight its deeply weathered grain and rich, organic contours. Its winding silhouette creates a great interplay of light and shadow, looking completely different depending on your angle. It’s a very fluid, graceful piece that seamlessly brings a bit of authentic mountain history to a minimalist console table or mantel.
