The Catino

One-of-a-kind handcrafted wood sculpture featuring beautiful high-alpine driftwood, sustainably sourced from the Colorado rockies. Catino translates to "bowl" or "basin" in Latin. It tells the story of high-alpine basins shaped by time, capturing how harsh mountain elements hollow out dense wood into vessels of quiet beauty. I handcrafted this one-of-a-kind piece from rare Rocky Mountain driftwood sourced at 10,000 feet, focusing on the swirling grain, organic hollows, and raw notches that form a striking sculptural dish. The deep, polished wood tones are paired with genuine crushed turquoise inlays that catch the light, creating a vivid contrast. It’s a very versatile piece—great as a table centerpiece, a decorative basin, or a standalone sculpture.
