The Cataracta

One-of-a-kind handcrafted wood sculpture featuring beautiful teak driftwood, sustainably sourced from Indonesia. Cataracta is Latin for "waterfall," and this piece is all about continuous, fluid motion frozen in time. It captures how timber bends and flows with the sweeping velocity of rushing alpine water. I handcrafted this to showcase the power of aged wood, focusing on the deeply sculpted, layered grain and rich tawny-gold hues that mimic a cascading torrent. By anchoring it on a sleek, dark geometric base, I wanted to create a sharp, contemporary contrast that really elevates the textured warmth of the raw timber.
